Tags 2. HP Support Agent. Message 2 of 2. Don’t worry as I’ll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue: Step 2: Close conflicting applications Make sure that other programs or applications that use the webcam are completely closed or not in use. Step 3: Restart the computer to correct webcam problems The webcam might be associated with another software program or not responding.

If restarting the computer does not correct this problem, continue troubleshooting. Step 4: Uninstall and reinstall webcam software Uninstall the webcam software. Go to the webcam software website to install the latest version of the software. Step 5: Test your webcam Zoom Testing your webcam if you are not in a meeting Log in to the Zoom client. Click your profile picture, and then select Settings. Click the Video tab. Click Video Settings.

Step 6: Update or change the webcam driver Some software applications might require updated drivers for your webcam to display video or they might need a more basic driver. NOTE: If you cannot find the operating system you want in the list, HP does not have drivers for that operating system. From the list of available software and driver categories, find the webcam driver. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

Double-click Imaging Devices to expand the list of webcam drivers. On the Webcam Properties window, select Update Driver Graciously, Claudeir. Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to Claudeeera’s post on September 9, Hi Claudier, Thanks, I have tried all that in your links, but nothing seems to have worked all afternoon.

I’m happy to help, to find out if any third-party software in the background is interfering, clean boot: -Clean startup: Clean boot is for you to determine if a background program is interfering with your system or to optimize your system load.

NOTE:This procedure disables all third-party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, selectively, instead of keeping them all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

Yours sincerely, Claudeir. Hi Claudier, Thanks, I have tried the above suggestion and it didn’t work. Thank you, Timea. On occasion, the built-in webcam in some HP laptops does not work. In this article, we will show you how to resolve this issue. A simple test to see if your webcam is working correctly is by going into the Camera app. This app comes pre-installed on all Windows 10 computers and is also available to download from the Windows Store here. To find the Camera app, go to the search box on the taskbar and search for Camera.

Once you have opened the app you should see an image. If this is the case then your camera is working. If you do not see an image, you can try troubleshooting to see if this explains the problem, if not, proceed to the next section.

You should then see a list of available software drivers for your specific laptop. From there, look for Webcam Drivers. If there is an update available, download the file to your PC, and install the software following the instructions given on the HP support webpage. This solution should fix the Zoom webcam issues on your device. Another easy Mac fix is to enter this into the command line:.

Remember, we mentioned disabling the processes which use your webcam? Well, this is the daemon on Mac computers that handles all webcam-related. Stopping it might resolve your webcam issue with Zoom. Lenovo computers sometimes have webcam issues when using the Zoom app.

Cannot get webcam to work for zoom meetings – HP Support Community – – Basic webcam troubleshooting

I have tried to uninstall, disable and it seems it might be using the wrong driver, which I am not able to change. The IR camera seems ok but the /25336.txt camera doesn’t work. When I use the Camera app, it keeps turning on – off. I cannot use zoom and MS Teams and it does not come up in the device list.

I now only have ‘USB video device’ listed, which seems a generic camera, hence it can i zoom the camera on my hp laptop – none: work. I cannot seem to find the right driver anywhere online either. Can someone help with explaining how I can fix this issue? Thanks a lot. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks, I have tried all that in your links, but nothing seems to have worked all afternoon. This time, I deleted both cameras and their drivers and quickly rebooted my PC first.

Both cameras re-appeared and the IR camera was default, so I disabled it, which now made the HD camera default and now it works on both Zoom and Ms Teams. The quick reboot might have made all the difference, not sure.

Thanks for your help anyway. It’s great to know there is someone out there who is willing to help. Thanks, I have tried the above suggestion and it didn’t work. The camera worked in the camera app at first, but it didn’t work in zoom and Teams.

It’s the same in Teams, I can see myself before joining a call but it fails to start in the meeting. Hi Claudeir, thanks for your help. I will be checking on this can i zoom the camera on my hp laptop – none: and tomorrow to see if any issues return but for now it seems this has fixed the problem.
